Readers question Ken Paxton’s latest actions; discuss Gov. Abbott’s Parental Bill of Rights; wish Republicans would focus on important school issues like teacher stress; and can’t believe how so many downplay the Jan. 6 events.

Then, on the same day’s Metro front, another story states that Gov. Greg Abbott and the Texas Republicans are urging the all GOP Texas Court of Criminal Appeals to allow Paxton to prosecute voter fraud unilaterally. This certainly sounds like a case of the fox guarding the hen house. Where is Republican integrity?Reflections from an educator of 31 years — Gov.

I could not agree more with this letter. Felinski’s summary that this was an armed insurrection bent on reversing the will of the people is simple and factual. With all the noise being raised by the Republicans, they would like you to forget the basic facts. When they are not busy floating theories that the riot was driven by FBI operatives or antifa, the GOP is working hard to make us believe it never happened.

I was more than a little disturbed by the fact that of the 13 letters submitted on the topic of Jan. 6, three of them tried to deflect, minimize or submit a new conspiracy theory on who it was that actually stormed the capitol.
