93 potential human burial sites identified by Williams Lake First Nation in residential school investigation.

St. Joseph's Mission Residential School, located near the core of the Williams Lake First Nation community, was torn down 26 years ago, but left a painful legacy for survivors and their families.A survey of a small segment of the land surrounding a former B.C. residential school has identified 93 sites of "potential human burials," according to representatives of a nearby First Nation.

Spearing added that while the 93 sites show "reflections" that suggest human burials, the only way to confirm that would be through excavation.Ground-penetrating radar is being used by Indigenous communities to pinpoint unmarked graves near former residential school sites. Here’s everything you need to know about the technology behind these discoveries.

Some members of the church's leadership, including Father Harold McIntee, were later convicted of sexual offences against the students. "Reports were at best given no credence," he said. "At worst there was something darker going on to suppress the truth."Physical, emotional and sexual abuse of St. Joseph's students was also documented by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada.

CBCTheNational Liberals, thanks for 30 yrs of teaching me, a man, that males (once work slaves for usurious housewives) are unworthy of everything & women are worthy of everything: Government actions show men deserve no voice, no political representation, no affirmative action, no men's groups

Did church leaders, the federal government, and the RCMP *conspire* to keep 50 deaths hidden by destroying the proof, and to prevent any investigation? The only way to know if graves exist is by excavation, write Tom Flanagan and Brian Giesbrecht cdnpoli

Have any of catholic criminals been arrested yet ?

CBCTheNational Truth & Healing. The work of reckoning continues with the need for support from all Canadians a given. EveryChildMatters. Light from evidence gathered & stories told. One is too many. They are with us & we are with Them. Love. Respect. Truth. Honesty. Courage. Humility. Wisdom.

I don't understand why First Nations children were murdered. There is no possible justification for it.

So shameful 🥲 , worst human genocide

More taxpayers money needed then?

CBCTheNational So sad that Trudeau talks about equality yet he refuses to give males the same political gender representation he gives women. He says he is a feminist. Facts show feminist ideology constantly excludes, subjugates & discriminates against males-Is this sexism to men a hate crime?

My heart is broken 💔 This is not only a burial site, it’s a crime scene 🥲

Someone help me.... explain what good came from our religious past? War...death... religious genocide.. oppression... children beaten and murdered... sexually assaulted. 'Work on Sunday, you go to hell!' God of love? Don't think so. God of fear Yep!

Wow 93 sites and counting, shameful

🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

This never gets easier. The human rights of children and minorities must be prioritized.

Saying the anomalies might be graves but half of the anomalies might just be a known graveyard and then saying nothing about who is in the 'graves' when they died and what they died from is pretty useless and may do more to re-enforce cycles of grief than to bring healing.

Human bones, grave goods or a coffin that has survived the elements are the only things that can identify a burial site. Only a geophysical survey has been done here, and the only thing that can detect is soil disturbances. Come back with real evidence next time.
