Stockbroker Angus Aitken has taken a swipe at Mark McGowan, as the WA Premier released details on how schools and hospitals will work when COVID-19 takes off.

Children in Western Australia would have to wear masks at school in a “high caseload environment” and healthcare workers quarantine for seven days after being close contacts, as the state government drips out details of the path forward postIt came as Sydney stockbroker Angus Aitken took a swipe at Premier Mark McGowan for his backflip on reopening the borders, labelling him an “absolute knob” who was “scared” to open up after underinvesting in the healthcare system.

Staff and high school students will have to wear masks, with the former required to be double-vaccinated and receive a third dose within one month of becoming eligible. Elective procedures in public and private hospitals would reduce to only essential category one and two cases for about eight weeks, in line with the “expected COVID-19 peak” and experience in the eastern states.

“I thank all staff for your continued support, dedication and professionalism,” Dr Robertson wrote. “I will provide further system updates over the next two weeks.”
