Acting Premier Jacinta Allan announced Victoria will double the number of state-run vaccination sites available for children aged 5 to 11, with 36 sites around the state. Most state clinics will begin vaccinating that age group from Monday, with support offered to kids suffering anxiety about vaccination or with developmental disabilities, autism or sensory needs.Ms Allan said there were no plans to change the school return date for Victorian students.

“We have no announcements to make around the return to school, other than we are working towards school resuming,” Ms Allan told reporters on Sunday. She said the government would be reviewing all settings, including school, work and health, as case numbers grow.Credit:

‘Biggest test’: Queensland delays school year by two weeks due to Omicron outbreakPremier doesn’t want children returning to classrooms until after peak of Covid cases expected end of January or early February Does the QLD govt follow your twitter, BenPugsley ? I get the feeling that this decision is going to adversely impact women more then men. That said, primary carers are going to be out of pocket because they can't go to work for 2 weeks. This is also not ideal for business struggling to get workers. Don’t let the Left near your kids.

School delayed by two weeks as Omicron peak nearsTerm 1 has been pushed back to February except for students in years 11 and 12, while Omicron hospitalisations are expected to “escalate substantially” from next weekend. Political Greed permitted the early border hopping and that greed has now impacted on the lives of our elderly, children and every Queenslander that doesnt have sick leave. Anyone with a brain could see this mess coming hundred miles away. NoAccountability

Premier confirms big delay to school returnQueensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has confirmed the term 1 for all students will be delayed until February 7 in her state, amid the rising tide of Omicron cases across Australia. Nothing to do with over 20,000 teachers refusing to take the jab so therefore schools will be short staffed. Kinda like the hospitals where an abundance of healthcare workers were sacked during a supposed pandemic. Wake up people!!!!!! This is literally child abuse. I so dislike government right now. Sensible decision. Hopefully schools will take the time to plan for remote learning. It’s possible term 1 will be homeschooling.
