Queensland has gone further than NSW in allowing household contacts in critical industries to return to work if they have no symptoms.

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet has confirmed that the government will allow household contacts who don’t have symptoms to return to work.“And what that will mean - if you deemed by your employer in an essential food distribution network or manufacturing, that with the provision of a rapid antigen test on the advice of your employer, you’ll be able to return to work if you are asymptomatic.

NSW Health’s Dr Jeremy McAnulty said the deaths were eight women and eight men aged in their 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. Perrottet said more rapid tests have started arriving in the state. He has announced another 50 million rapid tests for NSW, bringing the total to 100 million, saying they will be rolled out to vulnerable communities and to parents as school returns.
