“We anticipate resuming in-person instruction on Jan. 18,” district officials said in a message to parents.and moving to online classes as COVID cases were spiking.
Some schools have announced they are moving to half day and early dismissal schedules. And some of the state’s nearly 600 public school districts have warned parents they are still weighing their options and could make an announcement this weekend. Gov. Phil Murphy said Friday he has no plans to close schools statewide and switch to remote learning, as he did in 2020 at the start of the pandemic. He said the decision should be left to local school and health officials.
Murphy has repeatedly said remote instruction hurts student learning and the state should do everything it can to keep classrooms open.
I agree with the TWO WEEK remote learning (only TWO WEEKS folks). It basically is a 10 day quarantine to stem the infection rate. I pray it works. Do your part...Get vaccinated and wear a mask
The district’s that suck and waste the most TAX dollars are always the ones who want to close. With the lowest academic grades they have every thing to gain and nothing to loose
Not one kid sick but hey, let’s shut them down.
Because remote learning worked well before? Certainly Covid is a smart lol virus isn’t it?
So much equity for these kids. I’m sure they’ll be fine after all the learning loss.
Chaos
What a disgrace.
WdbgSchools GovMurphy Yet Woodbridge Twp is willing to expose their students and staff… the numbers are extremely high and in children mostly. State workers are either going hybrid or virtual but our children have to back to school like nothing
Yea because we've clearly learned from last time that kids do so well remotely
More propaganda BS
schools didn’t close during delta, along comes omicron, notably less severe, symptoms mirror a common cold, and schools are going virtual, people with no symptoms are getting tested for “peace of mind”. Some of you need to turn off the news and start thinking 4 yourselves.
“Fear” propagated by the media.
Half the students can’t read or do math at their level; public schools are failing NJ families at unbelievable levels. Remote learning is not effective for the vast majority of students. We need to replace public schools that can’t fulfill their core responsibilities.
