Parents of Two Oxford High School Students Sue District Over Shooting

last week are filing two $100 million lawsuits against the district and several administrators and staff, a lawyer for the family said. The lawsuits come just over a week after the accused shooter opened fire on his classmates at Oxford High School in suburban Detroit—an attack that left four students dead as well as six other students and one teacher injured. Michigan-based attorney Geoffrey Fieger filed one $100 million lawsuit in federal court Thursday and plans to file a second lawsuit in state court, according to his assistant.

Too bad they can’t sue gun sellers and manufacturers.

Don’t think they will get this one cause it’ll set a bad precedent. Opens up school districts to being sued by any parent. Causing public school systems to face bankruptcy because the government allowed people to be sued over that? Not happening. Privatemaybe fair game 👀

a ridiculous lawsuit. It's horrible what happened to this family, but what do the district have to do with this, and why should tax payers have to pay out so much money to them for something where the state isn't directly at fault? This wish to prosper from the tragedy looks bad

Disgusting, this is not something to profit over. Even if they made mistakes, it's not their fault.
