The Dowen College Parents’ Forum in Lagos State has demanded an overhaul of the school management and hostel teachers as well as the installation of Closed Circuit Television cameras in the school as the death of 12-year-old student, Sylvester Oromoni, continues to gain prominence nationwide.The parents’ forum, which condemned the death of the student, said a candle light procession would be held for him on Wednesday.
“These should include a change of the school management and hostel teachers, installation of CCTV cameras in all strategic places and overhauling of the school security system.“The Parents' Forum is organising a Candle Light event. Details of which are as follow: Wednesday, December 8, 6pm; Dowen College. The lighting of candles is to pay tribute to a life 'passed' and keeping the light burning signifies that the memory still lives on and burns bright.
Keep fooling yourselves Nigerians! This case is a direct measure and evidence of the level of moral degrade in the Nigeria society!! Obviously, this can happen in any school across the country! Everything has failed in country...I am sorry to say! I hope new employee are angels?
This is just so typical of the Nigerian society. No respect for life, not even our kids. Who remembers the death of the 3 QC girls in 2017? Was anyone ever held responsible for the criminal negligence which caused their death?
That motor park called dowen college should be shut down immediately by the appropriate authorities without minding whose ox is gored to serve as a deterrent to schls whose management is negligent in the affairs of its students period!!!
This doesn't make sense to me. Either the culprits are brought to book and made to pay for his death, or close and demolish the school 😡
When we talk about bullies in school we forgot that these innocent children learnt from bullying parents. How most rich nigerias bully the poor working for them, bully driver,cook,office staff and domestic. Any little thing parents use police or even military to bully others.
Too much news around the death of Sylvester. I am still waiting for the right investigative reports that truly gives adequate details.
These parents are heartless so to organize candle light will bring back Sylvester or the perpetrators will just go so that next time they carry out another attack,we’ll I will not blame the parents because it’s not their child .The school should shut down completely

As a parent first and foremost take your kids out of that bloody school, that's common sense
I saw someone say they should leave their kids there because the school is academically sound and that is the silliest excuse ever. There are about 15 other private schools in Nigeria around the same price that are wayyyy more academically sound and have better structure.
THE PARENTS SHOULD TAKE THEIR CHILDREN OFF THAT SCHOOL SO THAT OTHER SCHOOLS WILL LEARN FROM THIS.

This is not enough. Justice should be done first. If the principal and other staffs are found guilty, there will be no need to change the management as they will be cooling off in prison…. for aiding and abetting .
