It's definitely the Christmas season as The University of Santo Tomas kicked off its traditional Paskuhan season with this year’s Paskuhan theme “The Pilgrimage: Our Road through Trials, Our Road to Triumph.” 🎄

During the Advent mass, UST Vice-Rector Rev. Fr. Isaias Tiongco, O.P. reminded Thomasians to avoid being complacent or to “fall asleep spiritually.”

“It’s very easy to get caught up in the things of the present moment or get too overwhelmed with our miseries. The Lord knows our shortcomings and struggles and He gives us the grace to bear our burdens as we walk along the way of holiness, but there’s one thing He does not tolerate — indifference. Ang pagwawalang bahala o kapabayaan ,” Tiongco said.

“The Lord invites us to be awake, ang maging laging handa , to be watchful, be His faithful disciplines. We are encouraged to be witnesses to light and hope in the midst of disruptions, in spite of our miseries, in spite of calamities and death. When we give witness to the truth, to justice, to love, and to peace, we are witnessing to Christ,” he added.

Started in 1991, UST Paskuhan is the culmination of the university-wide Christmas activities of the University. Programs and activities were usually held during the last week or the last day before the Christmas break of UST.
