As a poor kid who went to private school , I can attest that my parents often couldn’t afford all of the other extra educational enrichments that the other students’ parents could. According to Pianta, the ability to afford these extras are what really have a determining factor in a child’s success.

I attended private schools from kindergarten through high school, and I received a wonderful academic education. One part that was lacking, though, was exposure to kids from varied socioeconomic backgrounds.

So, maybe now could we please raise the minimum wage?
