Professor McCormack, an international law professor at the University of Tasmania and a special adviser on war crimes to the International Criminal Court, went to school in Tasmania. Professor McCormack said he and co-author Professor Stephen Smallbone knew they would discover a range of issues during the review but didn't think either of them "understood the extent of that".
A full version of the report, obtained by the ABC under Right to Information laws found 41 current teachers had "some record of concern", with 21 requiring further investigation.The Education Department has subsequently reviewed all allegations against current staff, suspending five teachers while it launched code of conduct investigations against them.
