The University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) was a beehive of activities, yesterday, as resident doctors resumed work after a prolonged strike.

Members of Association of Resident Doctors form about 20 per cent of doctors in the teaching hospitals across the country.

The Guardian observed patients trooping into various sections and units of the hospital to be attended to by doctors and other health workers. The Outpatients Unit was not left out, as patients and their relatives were seen passing through treatment routines unhindered. An expectant mother, Sofiat Omoluwabi, said she was well attended to by the doctors on duty, just as Sam Oyinloye expressed delight over the treatment he got from the doctors.

The Head, Corporate Affairs Unit of UITH, Mrs. Olabisi Ajiboye, said the resumption of work at the hospital would boost the health needs of patients in the area.
