NSW teachers are complaining they were not consulted about changes made to the dates for students to return to school and say they found out about the new timetable when they heard about it on the morning news.

A spokesperson for the education department said Ms Harrisson was not at liberty to divulge "confidential cabinet discussions" but alerted school leaders at the first opportunity

Public health orders tailored to the original return-to-school timetable require teachers to be double-vaccinated by November 8. "How will you staff a school and how will you deliver programs with only 85 per cent of staff?" he said. "Has this been thought through?"NSW Education Minister Sarah Mitchell said she was "confident" that the new timetable was workable."We are prepared, we have planned, we are ready and it's going to be fantastic when they're all back."

Our new Premier seems to be approaching lockdown feet first while stepping on a lot of toes. I hope he sits down and reassesses his actions & realises his actions resemble a bull at the gate..

No wonder it now appears teachers will be expected to give face to face teaching as well as online teaching.

I suspect they will... A) not be alone B) be disrespected many more times b4 he is through

Why do Perrottet’s specs look like safety glasses? Cos everything’s about to blow up in our faces? DominicPerrottet nswpol nswpremier COVID19nsw auspol

I thought to have disrespect, we’d have received respect previously. Schools will get this done, we always have. Kids and community are our focus. The politics of pedagogy is our biggest hurdle.

He's off to a good start this Dominic Perrottet? Kerry Chant is not impressed either!

Pretty much like the sub deal. All going along swimmingly as far as teachers are concerned right up until the night before and then it all gets thrown out and a new plan instituted. Secrecy and deceit are obviously first nature to Liberals. nswpol

I don’t blame them. Imagine the work they would’ve been doing to make it happen. That’s all thrown out the window and they have to start again.

Teachers whinging. The correct decisions must be being made. Well done NSW

Disrespect? To do your job?

No respect from LetItRipDom, the crisis cabinet shows no signs of understanding the complexity of a school.

Do you want to know why NAPLAN results continue to decline? It’s because education is used as a political football. Case in point.

Is anyone surprised, that Perrottet is disrespecting our educators? Hopefully, the teacher's union will STRIKE. No remote learning or physical classes.

Schools open early: NSW students back to the classroom by October 25Students in New South Wales will make an early return to face-to-face learning, newly elected Premier Dominic Perrottet announced on Thursday. Sanity has returned. It should be made crystal clear that children under, say, 12 should not have to wear masks all day at school and principals who email parents to tell them that masks on all primary school children are compulsory should be pulled into lone or stood down. I’m all for kids going back to school. But I won’t be sending my kids back if they want them to wear a mask all day.
