Face-mask requirements in schools drastically reduce the spread of Covid-19 among children, two studies published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggest

Researchers in Arizona found that schools that didn’t require masking at the start of the academic year were much more likely than those that did. A second study found that counties without mask requirements for schools saw larger increases in pediatric Covid-19 case rates compared with counties with school mask requirements.

The fact the CDC called their logistic regression crude is concerning. It’s even more concerning that the CDC did not have data on how many participants of this study were vaccinated. It’s pretty obvious this study suffers from omitted variable bias.

But also physically and psychologically detrimental to children

justinhendrix Interesting. This conflicts with other research. Also neglets to reference the evidence of its harms to kids. If this is mandated we should continue to assess its efficacy. Hard to assess impact w/o full understanding of variables for risk benefit analysis.

Covid barely does anything to children so it doesn’t matter.
