Gardai are planning to continue conducting "high visibility patrols" near the University of Limerick following large student gatherings since colleges returned.

They were detained at Henry Street Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 and have since been released. It comes as one local councillor has raised concerns that estates near the college are "destroyed after student parties".
