A multi-agency rescue mission successfully saved a life on Thursday evening after a person was spotted entering the water in Co Cork.Mallow Search and Rescue, the local Fire Brigade and gardai are all understood to have been called to attend the scene at around 7pm on Thursday evening.Volunteers travelled downstream where they were assisted by gardai in pointing out where the casualty was in the water.
They managed to recover the person, who is understood to have been a woman, and she was given first aid by the Fire Service.The woman was then airlifted to Cork University Hospital for further treatment.
