I dropped out of college and turned to body building. One of the best choices I ever mad. Also women with college education have a very high chance of falling into heavy drinking. I normally mock them.. I tell them I don't have a degree, but I also don't have a drinking problem.

We come from a family of college graduates. My son, who is a very good student, graduated from high school last spring and decided to go into an HVAC apprenticeship rather than attend college.I am perfectly delighted with his decision.

In high school..representatives from the various college systems were presenting advantages of their institutions....the rep from the trade school spelled it out that two years...making 70K a year...and having an almost 100 percent placement rate and minimum student loans.

Good jobs exist for men without college degrees: plumber, electrician, mechanic. In general, the same opportunities don’t exist for women. Many of my engineering colleagues got college tuition by military service. Not a great option for women due to sexual assault

It’s almost like the Universities don’t prepare you for the world and teach their students how great the Western world is. Also the loss of Christianity over the past 50 years might be a factor on the “feeling lost” part.
Many young men spend way too much time playing video games and do the minimum work to get thru high school. They then have very limited choices of furthering education. They feel entitled to have a good life & when it isn't handed to them they get angry and become Trump voters.

I talked about this with my friend over the weekend. Our high school pushed college so much. But now we need good people in trades. I know a few guys who, looking back, said they wouldn’t have gotten a college degree, & all the debt that entails, and would have gone into a trade.

Guys, this is a fake issue. Men that are smart are going to college. The gap comes entirely from low tier schools admitting lots of women that won’t get any value from the degree.
There's way too much pressure at college currently. Also the homework isn't hands on. Many men learn better hands on. I tutored classmates free in college when they started to struggle. I found most of the time it was because none of their classwork was hands on.
Are men just afraid of competing with women in the classroom, and later, in professional fields, so they gravitate towards traditionally male dominated trades?

This is on parents to an extent. When I was in High School there was an expectation that boys didn't need to try hard in classes, that it wasn't cool. It is up to parents to instill a love of learning in young boys.
