The deputy principal of Hartstown Community School in Dublin said it has not had a single outbreak.

A school has credited a machine that disinfects classrooms for preventing a Covid outbreak since the start of the pandemic.It was among the first in Ireland to use ozone disinfecting machines to sanitise the air and surfaces of classrooms.

It is only used when no-one is inside the room, and the school said it can be used during lunchbreaks. “Safety is the priority and using the ozone machines, alongside existing protocols, has given us that extra level of reassurance.

The success of this school is probably down to their openness and willingness in finding ways to combat the virus not just the machine. Sterilising the room after use would only work if rooms are shared with another group, after all it's only on when unoccupied.
