50 to 75 per cent of schooling has been lost since 2020 due to the covid-19 pandemic. That’s according to Basic Education Minister, Angie Motshekga. She says parents and teachers must urgently deal with the serious shortcomings.

As a parent and husband if a teacher i can safely say the Minister is out of touch .Maybe in certain areas where the children are not interested in going to school she can say this but delivery i can say my child and my wife are doing their work 100%.

A major problem in high schools, in particular, is that many teachers (mostly in public schools) have a desperate lack of subject knowledge. Add to this, a culture of ill-discipline (including learners, parents & teachers), an appalling lack of work ethic, and ... ta-da!!
