Passing math test doesn’t mean you can teach it. Govt is creating a fake solution to a problem and hoping public won’t notice difference. This focuses on new teachers, but what are they doing for teachers already teaching? How will they measure if this intervention is effective?

charlesadler Anyone who’s sat in on a uni ed class knows it’s about the warm fuzzies and group work. Skills and knowledge are not the primary focus= teachers ‘teaching’ subjects they have no idea about. Pedagogy is important but so should be content.

These people refuse to understand that the modern classroom CANNOT have 30 students packed into one class and expect them all to learn! If students are going to improve and learn math there MUST be ONLY 15 students or less! The modern student is ill equipped to deal with more!
Excellent and they should also be tested for leftist ideologies. Propaganda, Marxism, Socialism, and Communism have no place near our children.

Lol there are so many things wrong with the Ontario education system n they focusing on a none issue like basic math. Teach em useful things like suicidal signs n first aid lord my gym teacher thought I made up epilepsy n it's part of the first aid curriculum 😂
