A young graduate from university of Calabar who is an Indigene of IMO state said she took on a teaching job after she graduated but the pay was inadequate, so she decided to be a tricycle operator.

In her words:when asked why she chooses to drive keke, she said “i was actually teaching in a private school ,so i got tired of their treatment and the pay was very very poor, i then said let me try this Keke business and see if i will be gaining better , “keke work better pass teaching work by far”.Tricycle riding in the country is believed to be a male dominated transport business.
