Police arrest suspected killer of Rivers varsity final-year student - Punch Newspapers

The police said their operatives arrested a suspect who allegedly shot a final-year student of the Rivers State University dead on Thursday morning.

The student was said to be having a meal on the third floor of a restaurant near the Faculty of Management Sciences about 9:10 am when the assailants trailed and shot him dead. Spokesman of the state police command, Nnamdi Omoni, said the incident is cult-related, adding that a gun was found in the panties of the killed student.

“I am aware of the incident at the state university where a student was shot dead. One of the assailants was arrested immediately. But it is likened to a cult clash. When we took the student who was shot dead into the mortuary, as we were undressing him, we recovered a locally made pistol hidden in his panties.
