The Country Manager, Mr. Lawrence Aladesuyi, at a symbolic presentation to the Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board , Wahab Alawiye-King, said the donation of the educational materials was in collaboration with United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund .He said: ‘’As part of our corporate social responsibility, we donated Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council certified books to Lagos primary schools, which will be extended to other states.
‘’We want pupils to read quality books and be educated. You know quality books are hard to come by. Our future depend on the pupils. They are our future. When they are educated, it will help the country. They can take the books home to read,” he said. While presenting some of the books to LASUBEB chairman, Aladesuyi called for collaboration between Cambridge Press and the agency to boost primary education in the state.
He said: “We will monitor how the books are used by pupils; those in riverine areas don’t even see books to read. “ On his part, Alawiye-King commended Cambridge University Press for the donation and stressed that the gesture will improve the studies of the pupils.
