The district said students ages 12 and up will be required to provide proof of vaccination, believed to be the first such requirement in California.

Dr. Ilan Shapiro, a fellow at the American Academy of Pediatrics, said a layered approach to school safety measures — which includes vaccines and masks — is necessary at schools.

Are parents actually agreeing to this? Are they fully aware of the risks? Wow, absolutely insane. Good luck y'all.

Sorry, but people that age are at very low risk with covid, and they weren't represented at all in the initial vaccine trials, this is just more misguided idiocy that will not prevent transmission or deaths. Bureaucratic overreach at a time that the pandemic is waning.

Culver City mom of 4 here (3 school-age, none vaccine-eligible yet) and I love this. Can’t wait to get my 11yo his flu shot this fall and his COVID vaccine when he turns 12. Thanks ccusd
