The Department of Health contacted the family on Tuesday, who then notified the Cumberland Park preschool in Traralgon.
The preschool's operator, Latrobe City Council, has notified all students and their families of the closure."We're taking all the precautions we can until we get further notice from the health department, because as yet, we haven't had any," she said. The ABC understands the doctor at the Royal Children's Hospital did not work while infectious, but investigations are underway into whether they may have consulted privately nearby."It won't open until we're really sure that it is safe," she said."Kids are kids — especially little kids like these.
"They don't understand you need to keep your distance, so we really need to be overly cautious to make sure everybody is safe."
