A North Carolina charter school that wants to require girls to wear skirts has won a decision in a federal appeals court. Some parents who object to the dress code sued in 2016.

FALLS CHURCH, Va. — A federal appeals court on Monday tossed out a lower-court ruling that banned a North Carolina charter school from requiring girls to wear skirts.

Charter Day School, a public charter school in Leland, North Carolina, that serves elementary and middle school students, was sued in 2016 by parents who objected to the dress code. The rules required girls to wear skirts, jumpers or skorts, except on gym days.that the dress code was unconstitutional because the charter school should be considered a state actor and that the rule violated the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment. In Monday’s decision, though, Judges A.

In a dissent, Judge Barbara Milano Keenan, an appointee of former President Barack Obama, said the ruling barring the dress code should have been flatly upheld. Baker Mitchell, who founded the school in 1999, said he still believes in the dress code, and that a majority of parents at the school support it as well.

Who do those people think they are telling kids what to wear?

Perverts

Nothing wrong with skirts/ uniforms -- for those who choose so. Wore. uniforms in my days-- with a whole lot of other boys & girls ....none of us went bananas / got bad grades Bc of that.

The communist left does it again I guess.

Ridiculous.

Thanks to two TFG judges 🤬 But there is this “the ruling does not flatly allow for reinstatement of the dress code. Instead, it orders the lower court to review whether the dress code is a violation of Title IX, the federal law that bars sex-based discrimination in education.”

Those parents actually need to find another school.

They can force girls to wear skirts against their will this violating their freedoms, but can’t force kids to wear masks to prevent a disease. It’s just incredible

Charter schools are bad for the country. They were a horrible idea.

I don’t know what a charter school is, but I’m assuming that they probably could’ve just changed schools if it was that big of a deal. I don’t agree with it, personally, tho.

The U.S. court system is a joke
