Student nurse left 'crying for water' in Covid hotel in Majorca

"There's no laundry service. I've run out of knickers, so I've been washing them in the sink - sounds bad but I have no choice."

"People are ordering food and putting the rope down and the delivery guy will just tie it on," she added. Miss Burdge said she had planned the holiday following a tough few months, and this had only made things worse. Hotel Palma Bellver said food was served by hospital catering, not the hotel, and that water was available to guests on request.

SanctionPakistan 🇵🇰 ❌

You say 'covid hotel' so flippently, it's a f**king detention centre! bbcscum

I call BS...

Has anybody heard from the hotel? Because washing knickers in your sink sounds bad she said, but I wouldn't expect laundry service while in quarantine. Sounds a bit demanding for somebody that took the risk of going on holiday with the possibility of being quarantined.

Covid owns a hotel now? Must be making billions

Third world.

Don’t care lol

The hotel not have taps or something?

Sorry, but I don't belive her ... she's playing the roll of a victim

Student nurse, doesn’t mention if she’s vaccinated?

Why Is a Person With Admitted Mental Health Issues Both Holidaying and Catching COVID (No Surprise There), a Student Nurse? Several Deranged Nurses Have Committed Multiple Murders In The Near Past! Who Vets Our NHS Workers? One NHS Worker is Currently On a Murder Charge!

1972tomek Pan zobaczy jakie dramaty w brytyjskiej prasie. 😄

Bit of a disgrace that report on this tabloid trash.Water in taps, nobody starving after less that 24 hrs without food.If s/b doesn’t bring additional medication with them just in case, that’s on them, nobody else.Come on , we don’t pay for this rubbish reporting.

Water should be provided in the room as standard, like it is in most hotel rooms! And why is processed food not allowed? If they feel healthy enough to order McDonald’s themselves, I don’t see why they can’t have it.

She should have stayed home

Sympathy for this one - not massive tbh. Check what might happen to you and your family pre travel. If you want to take the risk fair play to you but at least know what they are.

Nobody forced her to go on holiday during a pandemic...

Shouldn't have went on holiday in the first place. It's a bloody fast changing pandemic.

Tell me you’ve never been to prison without telling me you’ve never been to prison.

So what?

Why do we need to know she’s a student nurse…

Awww bless…. And moving on

Thanks for this great story BBC News. £13 well spent this month as well on my TV licence😀😀👍

She has to take medication for a mental health issue. Should someone who could potentially be unstable be working in the NHS looking after people

Was she in Spain or the dark side of the moon?

Another “clickbait” article

What a pointless piece of 'news'. Did the work experience kid write this crap?

Majorca hotels don't have water in the room? No bathroom or basin, all taps have portable water for consumption

Funny she can’t get water, but manages to get on BBC News. Anything for a negative story !!

She CHOSE to go …..

she looks like a twitch streamer.

A Nurse A Virus

She should be in UK lockdown to help the nhs. But abroad and I bet she isn’t clapping in the evenings for the nurses

Could it be stigmatization or what? Why was she left crying for water? Oh my God!!!

Easy to find alcohol and drugs , hard to have water ! Some countries ( UK included ), need to thing about dignity .

She should have known better….. Stay at home.

Shops probably ran out of Perrier, how dare they!

Should have stayed home! If anyone should know the dangers, it’s you!!

Boil the tap water….. fool.

Seems an odd hotel; if no water in taps? No shower or basin to wash in. Maybe next time get an all inclusive holiday package. No sure why cry to us; we don't control foreign holiday places.

Just a quick question what was wrong with the tap water?

It's Spain, not some isolated, barely known country in the middle of nowhere. I find it very hard to believe that a language issue prevented her from getting water. And even if it did, hasn't she heard of Google translate

should've gotten the vaccine love only thing you need to do is get tested, get a negative test you could've brought all the water you needed everyday while begin there, but no chose the pathetic idea going on holiday without being jabbed, oh right '' student nurse'' lol shambles

Who goes abroad during a pandemic?

The tap water is safe to drink in Majorca 👍🏻

It may not be the best time to travel

What an inflated balloon. Plenty of water in the tap and no, you're not starving after 24hrs of not eating, you're hungry. I would have hoped a nurse could tell the difference.
