Niger reveals effort to rescue 136 kidnapped pupils, bans illegal motor parks

It also stated that all illegal motor parks operating in Minna, the state capital, have been shut down, this is coming one week after imposing a total ban on the operation of motorcycles popularly known as Okada in Minna metropolis..

“It is therefore important for our people to know that the Government is not relenting in its efforts to ensure lasting peace and security returns to the troubled parts of the state,” he stated.Admitting the high level of compliance to the ban on commercial motorcycles in Minna, Ketso also said the Government is further compelled to consequently enforce the ban on illegal motor parks in the state.

“These include the Abdulsalam Garage, Central Garage, Kpakungu Garage, Limawa Garage, NSTA Garage, Mobil Garage, Peace Travel Park, Nice Travel Park and Kure Market Park.” He further stated that henceforth, all commercial vehicles in the state must obtain commercial number plates with immediate effect as well as stickers from the Ministry of Transport.
