KEPALA BATAS: A 50-year-old teacher was cheated out of RM5,000 by individuals believed to be part of a Macau scam syndicate.

North Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Noorzainy Mohd Noor said the victim alleged that two individuals cheated her through a phone call.

He added in a statement on Wednesday that the suspect claimed that the account was linked to an online gambling syndicate. ACP Noorzainy said the second suspect told the victim that"checks" of the victim's identity card number linked her to money-laundering activities.
