It is Canada's fault that 215 Indigenous children were buried in an unmarked, mass grave at a one-time residential school in Kamloops, B.C., Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Tuesday.

Trudeau said Canadians can't close their eyes and pretend this didn't happen; they must acknowledge that the country failed in its duty to those children, their families and their communities.

"This tragic discovery is a stark reminder of our duty to heal the wounds from this horrific part of our history," he said. The Truth and Reconciliation Commission concluded the schools reflected a policy of "cultural genocide." But Winnipeg NDP MP Leah Gazan, a member of Saskatchewan's Wood Mountain Lakota Nation, said there's no such thing.

if we found a fault with a bridge from a preferred supplier - we would be obligated to check all of their bridges for safety - we found unmarked graves of children - we have to check every residential school. cdnpoli IndigenousLivesMatter

Will Canada declare their treatment of natives a genocide and impose sanctions on themselves?

Total moral bankruptcy. Kama is a bitch. We have a big mouth on international stage although we do not have much influence at all, now we do not even have the right to open that big mouth any more.

Special debate? And the outcome? They are still dead. Their brethren are marginalized. And Canadian foreign policy still support fascist colonialism and apartheid systems such as Israel.
