A former Tasmanian school principal has rejected allegations he sexually abused two teenage girls in the early 1980s.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with two counts of maintaining a sexual relationship with a younger person.It is understood he was still teaching in the early 2000s.The retired principal, who is now in his 70s, pleaded not guilty last year and has been committed to stand trial in the Supreme Court in Hobart.
The Department of Education said it was aware of the matter but said it was unable to comment as the matter is before the court.
