PETALING JAYA: University students who returned home for Hari Raya celebrations will be allowed to return to campus according to the dates agreed upon before the imposition of the current movement control order (MCO).

The Higher Education Ministry said this would be done according to the standard operating procedures and clearance letters issued by their respective institutions for students to cross states and districts.

Students were allowed to return home from May 7 to 12 and are scheduled to return to campus from May 15 to 20. "The movement of lecturers and teaching staff for teaching and learning purposes will also be allowed with confirmation from the ministry or their respective higher education institutions," the ministry said in a statement on Wednesday .

"The National Security Council Technical Committee Meeting on May 11 decided that all such institutions under the ministry's purview will continue PdP online during the MCO period from May 12 until June 7."International examinations, professional bodies and research activities that require laboratory facilities in higher education institutions are also allowed according to SOP," it said.
