According to the See Hua Daily online portal, the 20-year-old male student went up to the eight floor of a building in the university and fell accidentally.Meanwhile, Sarawak Taiwan Graduates Association Sibu Chapter chairman Lawrence Tiong told The Star on Sunday that the victim was believed to be under tremendous pressure that prompted him to end his life.
"He had told his mother that he wanted to come back for a break. He subsequently applied to his university to fly home," he said. Tiong said the victim was supposed to fly to Kuala Lumpur on Saturday as his air ticket had been booked."This setback of not being able to fly home could have worsened his mental state," said Tiong.
The association, he said, is arranging for a visa for his mother and sister to fly to Taiwan to make the necessary arrangements. "We are applying for a special pass for his mother and sister to fly to the country without having to observe two weeks' quarantine," he said. Those in need of someone to talk to can call Befrienders at 03-7627 2929, email
