A school has shut down as arson detectives investigate a South Melbourne fire that spewed thick plumes of smoke across three city suburbs.
South Melbourne Primary School alerted families on Facebook this morning the school would be closed today as VicEmergency warns the "smell of smoke will be present in nearby areas" this morning.
