The academic programme is scheduled to resume next week.
The fire has been contained and work is now being done to ensure University of Cape Town buildings, especially student residences, are safe.The thousands of students who had to evacuate their residences are expected to be moved back from Thursday.Other plans will be made for students from the two reses that were worst affected.
UCT vice-chancellor Mamokgethi Phakeng said: "We'll make sure that students from Fuller and Smuts get their belongings. We are busy organizing accommodation for them where they will stay on until their residences are fixed." There's been mixed reaction from students, with some eager for things to return to normal and others still concerned.
Relief efforts to help affected students will continue over the coming days, with the SRC calling for donations of stationery, study material and clothes
