The land would instead be reverted to the government to enable it to be gazetted as a fully aided school, said PPTGWP director Datuk Muhammad Yasir Yahya.
Muhammad Yasir cited as an example, since the school was located near a slope and if there was a landslide or erosion, the remedial works would be borne by the government.“It was the only reason why the Federal Territory Land Executive Committee decided not to renew the lease, ” he said. “If they choose to do so, the school may not be able to enjoy the full benefits that come by being a fully aided government school, ’’ added Muhammad Yasir.
The school had written to the Land office on Oct 4,2017, to seek an extension of the lease. On Dec 18 last year, it received a reply that the lease would not be renewed.
