That said It’s easy to get bogged down in arguing with your ex about child maintenance but try to put that to one side and think only of your daughter.On what basis does your ex feel you should pay more? Bear in mind that if you were all still living together you would automatically be spending at a certain level on your daughter. Is that amount more or less what you are paying her mum now.

thirdly and probably most importantly there’s no reason from what you have said why your ex can’t go out to work. There are after school clubs and childcare available. If her main issue is lack of money you could offer to cover child care for a period until it wasn’t necessary.
