An outbreak of Covid-19 has been confirmed at an Irish school as urgent letter was sent to parents.

Officials at the secondary school in Co Limerick confirmed that two cases of the virus had been identified.

It reads: "Two confirmed cases of Covid-19 in your school have been notified to the Department of Public Health HSE Mid-West "If you are not identified as a close contact, you do not need a test for Covid-19, you can continue to attend school, and no further actions are required at this time."Ballymakenny College sent a letter to parents and guardians on Sunday informing them that a student had tested positive for coronavirus.
