Minister for Higher Education Simon Harris will today launch a plan that aims to offer 10,000 new apprenticeships every year by 2025.

Employers who take on apprentices are set to get a €3,000 yearly grant from 2022.

A bursary of €5,000 annually will also be established for 100 apprentices who experience socio-economic disadvantage. A national Apprenticeship Office will be created along with a portal for school leavers interested in registering to become an apprentice.

SimonHarrisTD About time, support employers in this and they will buy into it, keep the red tape to complete minimun. Also no reason not to expand this , 20,000 . And incorporate new apprenticeships , cycle shop repairs, glaziers, landscaping , etc etc , talk to the people on the ground simon
