Police are investigating allegations of inappropriate behaviour by a staff member at a Canberra primary school after multiple students raised concerns over the behaviour last year.The school's principal told parents in a letter that the staff member had been stood down while an investigation was underwayACT Police confirmed that the matter had been referred to them
The letter said the matter was being investigated by the ACT Education Directorate and that the staff member had been stood down in the interim."The ACT Education Directorate has referred this matter to ACT Policing for assessment and consideration," a spokesperson said.In a letter to parents, the school said the allegations were of a "serious nature".
"Due to the very serious nature of the allegations, the staff member will not be at our school whilst I work with the Reportable Conduct team within our directorate to conduct a thorough investigation.
