The San Francisco school board is poised to reverse a much-criticized decision to rename 44 schools it said were linked to racism, sexism, slavery or other injustices.

The Associated Press

Some of the city’s youngest students are expected to begin returning to in-person instruction this month after more than a year of distance learning because of the pandemic. There is no timetable for middle and high school students to return. “It feels like truth won this time,” Seeyew Mo, head of Families for San Francisco, said about Tuesday's vote. His group opposed the renaming process and brought attention to the flawed research.

The result prompted an outcry in California that the net was cast too wide, and mockery on social media and right-wing news sites which decried political correctness gone awry. San Francisco Superior Court Judge Ethan Schulman issued a ruling calling on the board to do what the lawsuit requests — rescind the vote and dissolve the renaming advisory committee — or show by April 16 why it shouldn’t be compelled to do so.

Are they pleading temporary insanity?

Rename them!

Just make San Francisco its on country do away with it in United States that city is such a fucking joke

hahahahahaha

Reverse?

If slavery didn't exist, they wouldn't be in America to complain. Someone should go back in time and prevent slavery. How would America be then.

Someone has to point out the unfortunate floodlight position

They just want to rename all the schools after all the black leaders, including Malcom, I guess.

This is so wrong.

It’s like a rainbow after a rain shower... ever so slightly the world might be falling back to some normalcy... crackpot decision from the get go

Leave our schools alone

So renaming the school will do what? And wanting to change the name that is honoring the man who ended slavery in the U.S. is a good thing? That only proves they want to push the lie that it didn't happen when it very much did.

Unbelievable Ridiculous. I'm a teacher. We've been back since August. We're careful, sitting 3 ft apart with masks. and it's fine. Zero hospitalizations. They just want to get money from having students in the schools.
