Courses in American Sign Language and Langue des signes québécoise will be part of the Ontario curriculum in fall. Advocate Wanda Blackett thinks that will "open up a lot of doors" for the deaf community, maybe even when it comes to daily interactions, years from now.Exposing students to sign language will improve life for deaf people, says Wanda BlackettWanda Blackett, who is hard of hearing, didn't learn sign language until she went to university.
