The Deputy Education Minister said since the vaccinations are for those above the schooling age, there is no need for advocacy programmes to be held in schools."Therefore, we will be having nationwide roadshows to raise the awareness about the advantages of taking the Covid-19 vaccines," he said after taking his first Covid-19 vaccine jab at Stadium Indera Mulia here Friday .
Dr Mah said the roadshows are among the initiatives taken by the government to encourage members of the public to take the vaccines. "We are going on roadshows to explain the advantages of being vaccinated. Those who are eligible should come forward and get vaccinated. "My office will arrange a roadshow where we will visit several places in Perak including rural areas and Orang Asli villages," he said."I see no reason why people should refuse to take the vaccine as it will protect everyone and that is how we get herd immunity.He added that about 4,865 teachers in Perak will be vaccinated under the first phase of the immunisation programme.
