English schools face tighter mask rules in government plan to reassure parents

Rules governing the wearing of masks in schools will be tightened when pupils return to classrooms in England, as the government plans a PR campaign to build up parents’ confidence in school safety ahead of reopening next month.

One of those times when people need to read the article, not the headline. 'Tighter mask rules' does not mean tighter masks.

The Guardian doesn't even question child abuse now. Children have virtually no risk from covid. But hey, lets force them to wear a dirty bacterial, mold, fungi infested cloth wrapped round our childrens face all day. Restricting their breathing, and re-inhaling c02 etc.

I hope this isn’t true. The ones my work gave me are really tight as it is. Hurts me ears a bit.

About time too! Perhaps if all had worn masks in school last September, there may not have been the surge in cases we saw in the autumn! (My 6yr old wears his in school all day & is tested regularly! No winter lockdown in NYC)

Parents to test children for Covid twice a week when schools reopenFace masks will also be compulsory outside classroom bubbles in secondary schools when pupils return. Why face masks FFS? Have they suddenly been proven to be effective? & You can naff off of you think my children are being tested. Twice a week?! Can we even get the results back to them in a timely manner? Is once a week not sufficient?
