Student impaled through groin by javelin in freak school accident

The freak accident occurred at Saint Stephen's College in Upper Coomera just before 11am.The boy was injured during a physical education lesson at Saint Stephen's College.

"We liaised with Queensland Fire and Emergency Services who assisted us in removing the object and that patient was able to be treated on scene, loaded and transported to Gold Coast University Hospital," Queensland Ambulance Service Operations Supervisor Stuart Cutajar said.Saint Stephen's said in a statement that the boy's parents had been notified.
