The federal government will set up “surge” coronavirus testing sites in 4 additional states by ElanaLyn

it would set up “surge” testing sites in Florida, Louisiana and Texas because cases were on the rise and the states could benefit from testing to identify new cases, especially for asymptomatic individuals. The tests are free at the “surge” sites, which may encourage people to get tested even though they are not experiencing symptoms. At the time, HHS offered 5,000 tests in each city daily and said the temporary sites would be in place between five and 12 days. 8,617,022.

. There have been 488,498 confirmed cases reported to the CDC in the last seven days with the highest number in Texas, Wisconsin, Illinois, California and Florida. The CDC and the White House faced sharp criticism in August when the CDC’s guidelines were changed to say people who come within six feet of a person with Covid-19 for at least 15 minutes but aren’t showing symptoms don’t need a test unless they’re a high-risk individual or their local public health officials recommend one.

ElanaLyn In cities in China they've testing over 2 million people in less than 48 hours when an individual is found to be infected. In the U.S., the federal government led by Trump has no national testing policy, no national tracking policy, and responds by saying, 'It is what it is.'
