In an email to students sighted by The Star, it said it had received a circular dated Oct 26 from the Higher Education Ministry instructing all campuses located within red zone areas to stop teaching and learning activities.
In light of this, the email said, the university management decided that both its George Town and Batu Kawan campuses would stop all face-to-face classes. "While the Batu Kawan campus does not lie within a red zone, management is mindful that many staff and students reside in red zones and thus the decision has been made to cease face-to-face delivery until it is advised by the regulatory authorities that campus-based classes may recommence," the email said.
UOW Malaysia KDU Deputy Vice-chancellor Associate Professor Dr Brian Imrie said online classes would begin from Tuesday . He said the online facilities such as counselling for new students, library, registration and more were still available for students.Article type: metered
