Universities have come under fire for pressuring staff to work on campus to create a “vibrant” atmosphere, with one saying it was important students were deterred from seeking tuition fee refunds.
How on earth do back office staff such as legal and finance contribute to a vibrant campus? Most students never have any contact with them and have no idea where their offices are. Ridiculous and putting lives at risk.
It’s a very small number of universities doing this, and I suspect the majority are taking a conservative approach and keeping most staff at home. Certainly true at the University where I work.
“A small number of universities accused ...” There, fixed it for you. At my university the opposite is true, so please stop generalising.
