Brigham Young University-Idaho says it is 'deeply troubled' that students may have intentionally tried to contract COVID-19. A nearby plasma center offers $100 for each donation with antibodies.

"As a special thanks, those who give convalescent plasma will earn $100 per visit," the company says. It also says that for people who have recovered from the disease,"As your body produces more to maintain your immunity, you can potentially donate multiple times."

Another donation center, BioLife Plasma Services in nearby Ammon, pays convalescent plasma donors $200 for each of their first two visits, according toIn late August, the Food and Drug Administration authorized the use of convalescent plasma from coronavirus survivors as an emergency therapy for people with COVID-19.

Urging students not to contract the viral disease on purpose, BYU-Idaho says any students who are in a desperate situation should seek financial and mental health resources at its Student Well-Being office.

Adam Smith vs Charles Darwin

carlquintanilla How much we talking here? JK carlquintanilla much respect for all the good RT.

Quibbling over which campus misses the point. If true, this is disturbing for each individual student and for the campus community...REGARDLESS of the institution or where it’s campus is located.

Like don't wear shorts to school troubled err.....

I'm a native of Utah, and ashamed to say yes, there are people there that motherfucking stupid and arrogant.

Uh yeah because college is expensive

Side hustle

The Mormon church has deep pockets😶. They should be paying students not to get COVID.

Such good Mormons.

I guess Stupidity is a popular major there.

This should now disqualify them from any further education. You can't fix stupid. (you can).

I’m sure Donald Trump would jump at the chance!

Finally proof that Brigham takes in the dumbest of the dumb

This tweet is misleading. This is not “Brigham Young University”—it is “Brigham Young University-Idaho.” It’s like referring to University of Texas-El Paso by saying only the “University of Texas.” Same system, different university.

carlquintanilla Troubled, but they can’t honestly say surprised.

Comes from a culture that puts money above all else

freeenterprise

This. Is NOT surprising.

carlquintanilla Far be it for me to question the mental and/or emotional ability for these students to make rational decisions regarding their own health care.

So deadly you catch it on purpose

Cmon BYU, what’s going on over there?!?! Wow... 🙄

As someone who has tutored numerous BYU students this is the least shocking news of the day.

What are they gonna do instead? Get a free education?😂

What do you expect from students who chose to attend one of the cheapest colleges in the country.

Cancel student loans

Hmm, maybe a UBI could help?

I believe this is at the Idaho campus, not the main BYU campus in Utah.

Idiocracy

Doing God's work...contracting COVID so that your blood can heal the sick....I get it. P.S. Students will do anything for $$$.

Have to find some way to pay back those student loans.

finally. some good old fashioned American ingenuity.

We are living in a dystopia, yikes

Now she gets winded walking to the couch. 🙏🙏🙏 Awful. I had a very mild case and it took me weeks to get back to normal. Hope she recovers I know of a long time marathoner, had greatly degraded cardio/pulmonary tests after covid. They could barley walk for 6 minutes and will take over a year to get back to normal.
