An entire middle school in Mississippi was forced to quarantine after more than 30 percent of the school's student body was exposed to the new coronavirus.

"Currently, 15 students have tested positive and 165 are quarantined," Smith wrote in the letter, while noting that these number equate to 35 percent of students being affected by the virus. The Mississippi Department of Health also provides COVID-19 data among 807 schools across 77 counties. According to the most recent K-12 school report, released by the state's department of health on September 25, there are currently over 1,800 confirmed cases among students in Mississippi since the start of school, as well as over 930 positive cases among teachers and staff.

Ahead of the beginning of the school year, the Long Beach School District decided to take a slightly different approach than others to bring students back to the classroom. According to a previous letter sent by Smith, students in the school district were split into two teams, and the teams would alternate attending in person classes for one week, while the other would learn from home.

Lmaoooooo so happy to not be in school no more

So 15 kids- the percentage is not relevant except to stoke fear. Missing info: how many were symptomatic and what was the cycle threshold of the tests given? Nice work.

but tate reeves govenor lifted the mask sanctions

genetic_warrior In Ontario, if 3 cases have been transmitted within the school community the school is closed.

iowvrs406 And Tate Reeves, the moron that’s governor in MS, rescinded the mandatory mask order today because “the vaccine will be here soon”

I wonder what happened? Could it be.... THERE'S A PANDEMIC? I feel terrible for those families. The MS govt is a pathetic failure.

I hope all of this kind of data throughout the country is being tabulated and we’re learning a lot from the results of all the various methods and steps taken.

Who ever told these kids to go back to school should go to jail.

What I want to know is - Are any of these students actually sick And if they are, how sick? And since they have tested positive will they now have a pre-existing condition for the rest of their lives? How will they be looked at by insurance companies in the future?
